The Pip of These Pages

"Love her, love her, love her! If she favours you, love her. If she wounds you, love her. If she tears your heart to pieces--and as it gets older and stronger, it will tear deeper--love her, love her, love her!"--Ms. Havisham, Charles Dickens's Great Expectations

Enforced strangers,
Who once exchanged intimate fluids,
Forefended by law,
How did such a thing come to be?

I am the solitary one,
Poring over books that find no home
In the mind of one who lives in their marks,
Because each word recalls my abandonment.

She was my muse, gone and left,
Her spit drips from my bangs
Today, tomorrow:
Scorn is the brand that burns the deepest.

Lover with new cock inside her,
As she moans herself to my erasure,
And I am alone, the Pip of these pages--
Tempestuous tedium,
Oh, to be me.
